Every year in Hot Springs, Arkansas, as the Christmas insanity comes to a close and the town prepares for another racing season, a select group of dedicated competitors gather at sundown to embark on an all-night, puzzle-solving, gas-guzzling, trivia-googling, coffee-mainlining, game-control-cursing road race of epic proportions. There is only one winner. The only prize is glory. But for those who compete, Midnight Madness is more than a game -- it is an event toward which those of us who are true believers look -- for the entire year.
